Edward C. Bauer, 89, of Allentown, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton. Born in Highland Falls, NY, he resided in the Jackson area for most of his life, before moving to Allentown five years ago. Edward was a US World War II Army Veteran and retired as a Store Manager of A & P grocery store after 40 years of service. He was an avid baseball fan and sports enthusiast.
Son of the late Edward L. and Mary Bauer, he was predeceased by three wives, Virginia, Mary Ellen and Jane Bauer; two daughters, Carol A. Martinock and Virginia J. Bauer and a brother, Gordon Bauer. Edward is survived by his two daughters, Diane and her husband Michael Moskal and Joanne Bauer; a son, Edward and his wife Judith; a step son Curt Orr; 10 grandchildren, Michael and his wife Debbie Martinock, Chad Martinock, Dawn Bauer, Thomas and Sarah Moskal, Brian, Caityln and Sean O'Loughlin, Brooke Bauer and Coley and her husband Tom Greene and three great grandchildren, Ryan, Derek and Carol Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Friday, August 1st at St. John's Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown. Interment will follow in Lakewood Hope Chapel Cemetery, Lakewood. A visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4pm and again 7-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main Street, Allentown.
