Obituary

Edmund W. Kopczynski, 67, of Manchester passed away from a sudden illness on Thursday, September 7, 2017 with his family by his side. Born in Trenton he was a longtime Hamilton resident before moving to Manchester. A US Army veteran, Ed served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He was a firefighter for the City of Trenton before retiring after 17 years of service and continued working for 14 more years as a corrections officer at the Garden State Correctional Facility in Yardville. Edmund's thrill for adventure showed in his love of lottery scratch-offs and his numerous trips to Atlantic City.

Son of the late Edmund and Helena Kopczynski, he was predeceased by his sister who passed away on September 4, 2017, Sr. Mary David "Pat" Kopczynski CSR. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose Mataliano Murdza, with whom he spent 23 loving years with; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Edmund and Kim Kopczynski and Brian and Ann Kopczynski; Rose's children, Janet Fleming and her husband, Jim, Anthony Murdza and Michael Murdza and his wife Stephanie; his grandchildren, Alexa, Kyle and Taylor Kopczynski; Rose's grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew Murdza, Savannah, Walker and Mac Murdza and Emma Fleming; his brothers, Dennis and Ricky Kopczynski; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Will Landolfi as well as many other family and friends.

The viewing will be from 10-12, with funeral services at 11:30am on Tuesday, September 12th at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown, 08501. Interment will follow at Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Mass cards (preferably for St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Whiting, NJ 08759, phone (732) 350-2233). Alternatively, Mass cards for the church of your choice can be sent to Rose, c/o Peppler Funeral Home.
