Edith Raynor – Cheney, of Robbinsville went home to the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old. She was born in Manorville, Long Island, NY on July 13, 1931. Edith's beginning in life was filled with fond childhood memories of being surrounded by her family, including aunts, uncles, grandparents, and other relatives, and working on the family farm. This instilled a strong sense of family and work ethic that she carried throughout her life.
Edith and Raymond Raynor were married on July 6, 1950 and resided in Riverhead, New York, before moving to Robbinsville, NJ in 1960. Edith was involved in the PTA, community work, and took pride in being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a 60-year member of the Allentown United Methodist Church.
On July 12, 1980, Edith married Robert Cheney. They loved to travel together, and she was thrilled to make many trips throughout the world.
Predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Walter Raynor; her son, Thomas W. Raynor; her daughter Susan A. Raynor; and her stepson, Michael R. Cheney; Edith is survived by her husband, Robert M. Cheney; her sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. Raynor & Amanda Raynor; Douglas G. Raynor & Diane Raynor; Jon H. Raynor; Patti Fitzgerald (Thomas Raynor) and Lisa Cheney (Michael Cheney); her grandchildren, Angela, Michelle, Laura, Melinda, Nicole, Emmalyn, Charles Jr., Christine, Trevor, and Tyler as well as her 12 great grandchildren.
Edith was a kind person who loved her family unconditionally and was always willing to listen and help others. She enjoyed sewing and loved spending time baking cookies, going to lunch, shopping and running errands with her grandchildren.
Edith was a strong, kind and giving person who is now at peace with her Lord.
Services for Edith will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edith's name to the Allentown UMC, 23 Church St., Allentown, NJ 08501.
Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
