Dwayne L. Dyste, 82, of Hamilton Township, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 surrounded by his family. Born in Bainbridge Island, Washington, he grew up in Alaska and later moved to Bloomfield where he resided for most of his life. A US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam, Dwayne was a graduate of Bryant University and retired from a career as an insurance broker.
Dwayne lived life to the fullest. He and his wife Susan loved to travel, especially on cruises, and Dwayne had visited all 50 US States, Alaska being his favorite. He loved to fish, watch old westerns, and listen to a ball game and he was rarely seen without a portable radio with him. Dwayne had a wonderful sense of humor and also enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends, often going to a good restaurant or visiting a vineyard. He loved to cook - and eat, and enjoyed a good steak, cold beer, or a glass wine.
Son of the late Kenneth and Helen Dyste, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Vera Lynch. Dwayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan M. Dyste, his two daughters and son-in-law, Dawn Dyste of Hamilton and Erin and Tom Towers of Allentown; his grandchildren, Cole, Peyton, and Gavin; as well as extend family and good friends, including his community at Azelea of Hamilton.
Services will be private with a burial with military honors at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dwayne’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Blood Cancer United, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087 or at https://bloodcancerunited.org/
