Obituary

Douglas W. Chappell, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly with his family by his side. Born in Princeton, he was raised and had lived in Allentown, NJ prior to relocating to Presidential Lakes in Browns Mills and then Bordentown Township, NJ. Doug had worked extensively in the steel fabrication industry and had worked for Vernon Fab Co., Perry Products Corp., Deb Maintenance Corp, Delaval Condenser Div, Delaval Turbine Div, and finally J. C. McElroy Co where he retired as quality control manager in 2017. He earned his private pilots license in 2003 and enjoyed building and flying RC aircraft. He was a long time member of the Levittown RC Aerobugs Inc Club.

Predeceased by his parents William G and Irene Chappell and his two brothers: Dennis W. and Ronald G. Chappell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolores M. Chappell. His daughter and son-in-law: Victoria L. Carr and her husband Robert of Eastampton, NJ. His granddaughters: Alexandria Carr of Stuarts Draft, VA and Breanna Carr of Eastampton, his brother and sister in law Raymond and Cindy Chappell of Chapel Hill, NC, his sisters in law: Beata Chappell of Groveville NJ and Doris Booth of Cream Ridge NJ, his niece: Lisa Chappell and husband Jon Sohl of Allentown NJ, his Aunt and Uncle in Grants Pass Oregon, several nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Douglas will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown, NJ.
