Dorothy M. Spence, 93, of Bordentown City died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in the Mercerville Nursing and Convalescent Center. A lifelong resident of Bordentown, she was a 50+ year member of the First Baptist Church and active in the Lend-a-Hand Society.

The wife of the late John H. Spence, mother of the late David Spence and sister of the late Mildred Newman, Marge Ritchie, Jean Foster, Leona Brenzier and Charles ""Chip"" Foster; she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Larry Goad of Bordentown; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Spence of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Delores Foster of Florida; 2 sisters-in-law, Sylvia Foster and Mary Spence, both of Bordentown; a brother-in-law, Rev. Herbert Spence and his wife Phyllis of New York; 4 grandchildren, Brian Goad and his wife Melissa, Amy Farina and husband David, Patrick and Adam Spence and Meghan Randall and husband Ron; 3 great grandchildren, Katie and Dory Goad and Seth Randall as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in the Bordentown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 200 Prince St., Bordentown, NJ 08505.
