Dorothy D. Ruck, (Dotty) 86, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at the Edward M. Poe Hospice Care Center in Titusville, Florida. Born in New Brunswick, NJ she had resided in Hillsborough and Columbus, NJ prior to moving to Merritt Island, FL. She retired as an administrative assistant with the Hillsborough Township Department of Public Works. Dorothy and her husband Doug were members of the Somerset Sail and Power Squadron and the Providence Presbyterian Church of Burlington. Dotty had a love and zeal for life which was evident in her many activities. Her family loved hearing her stories of scuba diving, riding a motorcycle across our country and vacation adventures! The whole family is blessed to have wonderful memories of camping and sailing with Dotty! She was thrilled to watch her family grow and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of each one of their lives! She loved cheering everyone on in their endeavors and was thrilled by all their accomplishments! Dotty was a faithful and true friend and she will be deeply missed by all.
Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Dix and her son-in-law, Larry C. House, she is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Douglas L. Ruck, her daughter: Leslie Ruck House of Titusville, FL and her son and daughter-in-law: Larry Ruck and his wife Sharon Lindbloom Ruck of Hamilton Square, NJ. Her sister Patricia Varju of Somerville, NJ and granddaughters: Melissa, Elizabeth and Christina Ruck, Heather House Berrio (Andres), Ashley House Reninger (Aaron), Alissa House Reninger (Luke) and Rebecca House Mauchly (Caleb) and 9 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:30am Wednesday, September 16 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation at www.helpfightra.org.
In consideration of the pandemic, masks must be worn, social distancing must be observed and numbers within the funeral home will be limited. Dotty's family also understands if you are unable to attend, we know we are in your hearts and prayers.
