Obituary

Dorothy Ghee Wyatt Kay went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Brightview Assisted Living in Mount Laurel. She was born on May 10, 1933, in Kenbridge, VA to Mason Ghee and Rosa Maddox Ghee and is one of five children born to this union.

Educated in the Bethany Elementary School, Kenbridge, VA and Lunenburg High School in Victoria, VA. She graduated in 1955 from Virginia State University with a BA degree in Social Sciences and a minor in Spanish. She was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. She also attended John Robert Powers Finishing School in 1970 and Westchester Community College in White Plains, NY in 1974. She carried herself with quiet confidence and exemplified love, strength and pride. To quote our New York family she was a wonderful role model for young women and taught us that we should be proud of who we are.

Dorothy held many jobs in Westchester County, NY which included being a Meter Maid with the White Plains Police Department, the Urban Renewal for the City of White Plains, the Department of Social Services/Social Worker, and finally retiring from the White Plains Housing Authority as an Assistant Manager in 1985.  She was baptized at Bethany Baptist Church in Kenbridge, VA as a child.  Then moving to White Plains, NY she became a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Ridgeview Congregational Church where she and Bruce were married in 1980. Upon moving to Robbinsville, NJ in 1987 she was a member of the Protestant Chapel at Fort Dix.

She is survived and leaves to be cherished by her two daughters, Natalie Savage and Veronica Wyatt from her marriage to John Wyatt; her grandson, Kalanii Savage; four stepchildren Kathy, Tom, Nancy, and Roger Kay; sister-in-law Mary Ghee. She was predeceased by her brothers McCoy Ghee and Edward Parker Ghee both of Kenbridge, VA and Emerson Ghee of Trenton, NJ; her sister Martha Ann Ghee of Kenbridge, VA and Virginia Kay of Florida.  Along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 23rd at Alpha Baptist Church, 15 Rose Street, Willingboro, NJ. Viewing 10am-11am Service immediately following at 11am. Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ. Arrangements under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, NJ.
