Doris Hoagland, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Sunrise of Severna Park, Maryland, Retirement Home. She was a longtime resident of Allentown, New Jersey. Born in Ewing, New Jersey, Doris, was the daughter of the late Wheldon and Effie Shivers. She retired as secretary to the superintendent of Upper Freehold Regional School District after 35 years of service. Born into a farming family she enjoyed working at Russo Farms for 13 years during retirement. Doris cherished her family and cheered on her four grandchildren during many lacrosse and soccer games.

Doris will forever be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Popham, wife of Bryson, and Jo-Ann Law, wife of Terry; her brother, Mervin Shivers, husband of Claire and was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Suydam, She is also survived by four grandchildren, Corey Popham, husband of Samantha, Jessica McDermott, wife of David, Kelly Thomas, wife of Christian, and Tessa Law; eight great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Bryson and Winton Popham, Laine, Emily and David McDermott and Lincoln and Palmer Thomas and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was an active member of the Allentown United Methodist Church, the Lawrenceville Grange, and the Villagers of Allentown.

Family and friends will be received at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 South Main Street, Allentown, New Jersey on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
