Doris O. Ferrant, 93, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Genesis Health Care in Mercerville. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Yardville before moving to Bordentown Township in 1952.
Doris had worked for Mack Trucking after graduating from South River High School, then for Johnson & Johnson (Permacel Tape) during WWII, Agway in Yardville for many years, and later retired after 20 years with Amtico Flooring in Trenton as a credit manager. She was active in many state and local garden clubs and was co-founder of the Nottingham Garden Club in 1956, serving two terms as its president. She taught and lectured on flower arranging, chaired and ran flower shows for the Trenton Trust Company, Arnold Constable, and Lit Bros. Department stores in Trenton. She was active with the Burlington County Farm Fair Flower Show committee and won many flower arranging awards for her entries in both local and state shows. She was past president and a member of the Wrightstown Garden Club and a member of the Contemporary Club of Trenton and the Bordentown Senior Citizens.

Daughter of the late Mildred Randolph O'Brien and James J. O'Brien and sister of the late William J. O'Brien, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and James Dellas, of Seaside Park, NJ, two sons, Nicholas A. Ferrant and his wife Alice of Bordentown Township, Thomas H. B. Ferrant and his wife Reisa Jones of Abington, PA, a daughter Jamie Lee Soderstrom and her husband Alan, of Burlington Township, five grandchildren, Nichole, Michelle and Thomas Ferrant, Laura Galuchie and her husband Jack, Jennifer Johnsen and her husband Dennis, and her great granddaughter Madeline Galuchie.
