Donald D. Wood, 82, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Compassionate Care Hospice. Born in Trenton, he was a lifetime Allentown area resident. Donald retired from J. C. P. & L. after 39 years of service and was a member of St. John's Church in Allentown.

Son of the late Samuel and Helen Steinmetz Murray, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Louise Wood (nee Michael); his sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Wood of Allentown, David & Kathleen Wood of New Egypt and Donald Jr. and Carol Wood of Allentown; his sister, Doris Phillips of Bordentown; grandchildren, Melody Lloyd, Daniel, Bryan, David, Derek, Andrew, Kyle, Elizabeth, Donald III and Katelyn Wood; great grandchildren, Lyla, Violet, Iris and Nash Lloyd; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Wood; as well as nieces, Janet Matthews and her husband Carl and Patricia Phillips.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Friday, April 25 ^th at St. John's Church, 1282 Yardville Rd., Allentown. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 7-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's name to the Church of the Scared Heart, 1739 Ferry Ave., Camden, NJ 08104.
