Donald R. Matney , 90, passed away Friday September 12, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, he had lived in Bordentown City for the last 60 years. He was an Air Force Veteran during the Korean War and was stationed at McGuire Air Force Base where he met his future wife Shirley. He retired from DeLaval in Trenton after 32 ½ years. Don enjoyed country music, cooking on the grill and his "fishing trips" with his work buddies.  He also found great pleasure in preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for family gatherings.  He always cooked for an army with the intent to share his huge batches of stew and soup with family. Cooking was one of the many ways in which he expressed his love.  He was so proud of his garden and shared its bounty with his family, friends and neighbors.  He will be deeply missed!

Predeceased by his parents Daniel Fredrick and Elsie May Matney, his siblings: Floyd and Clifford Matney, Doyle Baker, Violet Kilborn, Eva Baker and Dorothea  Marks and his beloved wife Shirley E. Matney, he is survived by his children: Debbie Clemens and her husband Bob of Bordentown Township, Cindy Alustiza and her husband Will of Bordentown City, Donald Matney of Bordentown City, Ronald Matney of Cherry Hill, and Diane Reeves and her husband Duane of Medford. His brother Marvin E. Matney of Lampasas, TX, Eleven grandchildren: Bobby, Keith, Courtney and Brent Clemens, Jason, Chris, Austin and Owen Alustiza and Donald, Giulia and Brittany Matney and many great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11 am on Thursday September 25 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Friends may call on the family from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
