Donald C. Johnson, 84, of Cream Ridge, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Cream Ridge, Donald was a lifetime resident. He was a graduate of Allentown High School and Trenton Junior College School of Industrial Arts. Donald also was a US Air Force Veteran. Donald retired from IBM after many years of dedicated service. During his tenure at IBM, he was the recipient of several Outstanding Accomplishments in Service awards. As an active member of the Allentown Lions Club, his favorite place to serve was with his wife Betty at Market Days in the food truck. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, gardening, and hunting. His favorite places to be besides at home in Cream Ridge were skiing in the Poconos and fishing in Florida. In his later years he regularly met friends for coffee and a hash brown to people watch at the local WAWA.

Donald was devoted to his family, not only to his wife, children, and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, but he was a great caregiver to his extended family, including his wife's mother, aunts, and uncles. Donald loved spending time with his family, and he was always willing to help out in whatever way was needed.

Son of the late Lester and Regina Johnson, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty Johnson and by his brother, Lester Johnson. Donald is survived by his three children, Lisa Challender, Dwayne Johnson, and Daryl Johnson; his grandchildren, James Michael Challender, Ashley Grant and her husband Rob, Taylor, William, Nathaniel, Aidan, Carolyn, and Diana Johnson and by his great grandson, Lucas Grant.

The family wants to thank all the friends and family who supported them during Donald's last week at home. A special thanks to Sueann Burns who served as an anchor during this difficult time.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 10 ^th from 11am to 1pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. Services will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
