Deborah "Debbie" E. Smith Coll ,68, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at home with her loving husband. Born in Syracuse, NY, to Geraldine and Andrew Smith, she grew up in East Brunswick, NJ before moving to Miami, Florida in 1977. Debbie was a 1971 graduate of East Brunswick High School in East Brunswick, NJ. Debbie worked various positions within the service industry her entire career until she retired in 2016. She married her husband, John, in 1983 and moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 1985 they moved to Jacksonville, Fl. and to Mobile, Alabama in 1990.

Debbie loved life and accompanied her husband on many storied adventures from the Everglades of South Florida, the tidal salt marshes of North Florida and the Mobile Delta in Alabama. She was also an avid scuba diver and was often found diving in Belize. Debbie was also highly active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in Mobile, Al. Deb loved the Lord; although raised Episcopalian; she was non-denominational. Debbie was a loving wife whose happiest moments were in the pursuit of adventure and with her family.

Preceded in death by her father, Andrew Smith, Debbie is survived by her mother, Geraldine, her loving husband of 39 years John Coll, three sisters Cynthia Pfaff, Dyanne Smith, Geraldine Smith and brother Andrew Smith; in-laws: Suzann and John Smith, Patricia and Ed Matthews, Mary Coll, Patricia Coll, and Robert Peppler as well as many nieces, nephews, and their children.

A "Celebration of Life" event will be held in Alabama, New Jersey, and New York for Debbie.
