Obituary

Deanna Asbrand, 64, passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 after a long illness. Born in Trenton, she resided in Bordentown Township before moving to Chesterfield 30 years ago. Deanna retired from the Bordentown Regional School District after 33 years. She loved her years working with SLD students and helping out with the Tournament of Champions at Peter Muschal School. Deanna started a Walking Program with the Morning Child Program students called the Mileage Club of which she was very proud. Deanna enjoyed boating along with working in the garden and the potting shed. She loved baking Christmas cookies to give to family and friends, but most of all she loved her visits with her adored grandchildren, Megan and Sean.

Daughter of the late Ernest and Lois Patarcsity, Deanna is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Gary Asbrand, Sr.; two sons, Gary R. Asbrand, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Pearland, TX, and Kyle Asbrand of Chesterfield, NJ.; two grandchildren, Megan and Sean Asbrand; brother-in-law Phil Asbrand and his fiancée Ann Crivelli of Hamilton, NJ; a sister-in-law, Marie Asbrand of Hamilton, NJ; an uncle and aunt, John and Adeline Patarcsity of Bordentown Township, NJ; an aunt, Barbara Powell of Sun City, FL; an uncle and aunt Donald and Janice Snyder of Tamaqua, PA; a niece, Kimberly and her husband, James DiSanti, of Farmingdale, NY; a nephew, James Asbrand and his wife, Heidi, of Salt Lake City, UT; several cousins, many great, loving and caring friends and two very special friends, Deacon Jim and Nancy Challender of Hamilton Township, NJ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday at St. Mary's Church,Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm C Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. Friends may call Sunday evening 6 pm to 8 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown and again Monday morning 8:30 am to 9:30am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Deanna's name to The Hospice of Moorestown VNA, 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057 or The Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
