Dean Patrick Murray, 64, passed away suddenly on May 14, 2026. Born on May 9, 1962, to Irish immigrant Anne Philomena Smith and her husband, Dean was raised in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, where he developed the strong values of faith, service, and dedication that remained with him throughout his life.

As a young man, Dean was active in the Boy Scouts and served as an Altar Boy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in 1980, where he proudly participated in the NJROTC program. Dean later attended Pennco Tech and built a respected career as a bus and diesel mechanic. He worked in heavy diesel mechanics for TNJ and also provided mechanical support for college transportation systems. Known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic, Dean took pride in helping keep others safely on the road.

Dean proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard from 1988 to 1992. During his service, he was stationed at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo, Japan from 1988 to 1990, where he worked on C-130 aircraft. His military service was a source of lifelong pride.

Dean was also a compassionate supporter of the autism community and cared deeply about advocacy and support for individuals and families affected by autism.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Michelle Murray; his mother, Anne P. Smith; his sister, Joann Murray; and sister-in-law, Julia Cox.

Dean is survived by his children, Gregory Murray of Hastings, Nebraska, Bridget Murray and David Murray of Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He also leaves behind his sister, Marie Mahler (Franz); brothers, Bob W. Murray and Michael J. Murray; nieces, Rachel Brendle (Levi), Hilary Murray, and Megan Bray (Adam); nephew, Kenneth Sarnes (Jackie); great-nephews Colin Bray and Isaac Brendle and a great-niece Darcy Bray.

Family and friends are invited to honor Dean’s life at a military service to be held at 10 am on Friday, June 5th at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ. Those wishing to attend, please meet at cemetery by 9:45 am at Peppler Funeral, 114 So Main St., Allentown, NJ by 9:30 am.

Dean will be remembered for his devotion to family, his honorable military service, his mechanical talents, and the kindness and quiet strength he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
