Dawn L. Trautwein, 76, of Mercerville, New Jersey passed away on May 20, 2022 at Capital Health Hospital in Hopewell, NJ. Born in Ephrata, Pennsylvania on June 29, 1945, Dawn last resided in Mercerville, New Jersey. She worked as a seamstress for Wags Manufacturing in Trenton, New Jersey and later, as a receptionist at Cytogen Corporation and General Electric in Princeton, New Jersey.

Dawn was always a number one fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed trips to the Ocean City New Jersey boardwalk and Green Dragon Flea Market. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Daughter of the late Edward Mellinger and Elizabeth Mellinger, she was predeceased by her brother, Roland Mellinger, and her brother-in-law, Harley Forwood. She is survived by her son, Thomas W. Haas of Chesterfield, New Jersey, and two daughters, Donna Haas of Mercerville, New Jersey and Charlotte Barbera of Palmyra, New Jersey. She also was Grandmom to Courtney Haas, Zander Thomas Haas, Landon Xavier Haas and Christopher and Anthony Barbera, Heather Essary, Brittney, Tiffany and Kaylee Trautwein, and her great granddaughter, Ryleigh Grace Essary.

Dawn was sister to Joyce Forwood, Edward Mellinger, Jr and his wife, Dauna Mellinger, and Gerald Mellinger and his wife Sue, all of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and great friends.

Dawn also had a best friend for more than 20 years, Marie Six, of Mount Holly, New Jersey.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, May 26, 2022, and a Memorial Service will begin at 11AM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, New Jersey 08505.
