Daniel A. Studney, 83 of Millstone, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Newark, he resided in Hillside, NJ for many years as well as in many shore towns throughout New Jersey, before settling in Millstone with his family. A member of Local 194, he retired in 2002 as a route salesman for Drake Bakeries where he worked for 37 years.
A true outdoorsman, Daniel loved the beach and being on the water. He was an avid fisherman and after his retirement was a fishing mate on several boats. He loved to hunt and spend time working on and enjoying his family's farm. Daniel was a talented athlete. He competed in the 1963 Pan American Games in Brazil and won a gold medal in the Javelin competition. His record breaking throws, and unique style helped him earn the title of National AAU Javelin Champion.
Son of the late Aloysius Anthony and Vera Studney (nee Jakubik), he is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Studney; his son, Daniel S. Studney; his daughter, Kim Mangrella and her partner John Newman; grandchildren, Joey, Danielle, and Jake Mangrella; brother, Michael Studney and his wife, Pamm; nephews, Christopher, Andrew, Matthew, Michael Studney and niece, Lauren Studney as well as many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation with the family will be held Sunday, December 8th from 3-6pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to VNA Health Group Hospice
