Daniel J. McCaffrey, Jr.89, of Allentown went home to God on Friday, May 17, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Queens, NY, Daniel lived in Brooklyn and more recently Staten Island before moving to Allentown in 2002. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served on a destroyer. He joined the NYC Police Department in 1955 and retired after 37 years of service, with the rank of Captain, in 1992. He was an avid baseball fan and a faithful member of St. John's Church in Allentown. He loved to spend time in his garden and take day trips, especially to the Jersey shore with his wife. He was a devoted family man and loved being with his children and grandchildren.

Predeceased in 2011 by his loving wife of 55 years, Beverly Joan McCaffrey, Daniel is survived by his six children, Karen McCaffrey Feinberg and her husband Stuart, Christine McCaffrey and her pets, Daniel McCaffrey III and his wife Linda, Mary McCaffrey Manzo and her husband Mark, Francine Mazzei and her husband Bob and Michael McCaffrey and his wife Colleen and his six grandchildren, Matthew, Erin, Sean, Michaela, Fiona and Gavin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, May 21 ^st at St. John's Church, 1282 Yardville Rd., Allentown. Interment will follow in The Cemetery of the Resurrection, Staten Island, NY. Friends may call Monday from 2-4pm and again from 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
