Daniel F. Gilliland, 72, of New Egypt, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at his home. Born in Trenton, he was a longtime resident of Imlaystown prior to moving to New Egypt, 40 years ago. A US Marine Corp Veteran, Daniel retired from the State of New Jersey. An avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a member and past president of the Cross Pile Hunting Club and was active with the Millstone Elks. Daniel was also a member of the National American Legion and the NRA.

Son of the late Daniel and Frances Gilliland, he is survived by his wife, Beverly (Alloway) Gilliland; his children, Dana, Dwayne and his wife Karen, Darren and his wife Joyce, Dean, Darlene and her husband Jimmy, Greg and his wife Terry, Gary and his wife Joan and Dawn and her husband David; a brother-in-law, Dean Galnos; two cousins Russell Hotchkins and Augusta Mitchell; 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday, January 20th from 6-9pm and again Tuesday, January 21St from 9-10:30am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery.
