Dana Michelle Gamel, age 27, passed away in Bordentown on June 1, 2015 after a long, hard battle of addiction. The tiny redhead came into the lives of her parents, Jim Gamel (deceased) and Peg Woolf when she was born in El Cajon, California. Dana attended Bordentown Regional High school and recently attended Footprints to Recovery where she cherished her bubbly counselor, Tim, who was one of the best influences in her journey. She loved to jam, dance and sing to all varieties of music and had the headsets connected to her ears all the time. She could name the lines from almost any movie, especially the Twilight series and Top Gun and loved reading Ellen Hopkins books. Dana treasured the friendships, support and encouragement she received from many people.
Granddaughter of the late Johann Wirth and the late Charles (Tuffy) Gamel, Dana is survived by her loving Grandmom Thelma Wirth and "Nana" Viola Gamel; her uncle and aunt, Don and Martha Wirth; her cousins, D.J Wirth and his fiancée Nina and Becky Springswirth and her husband, Beckett. Aunt Bonnie,"The Other Mother," "Special Sister Stephanie and Rich Woolf were great influences in her life, as well as many other relatives and caring friends.
A celebration of Dana's life will be held 11 am on Monday, June 8th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Friends may call Sunday, from 4-6pm and again Monday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to City of Angels, PO Box 10237, Trenton, NJ 08650.
