Conrad A. Vahlsing, Sr., 53, of New Egypt, passed away Friday March 14th at his home. Born in Montclair, NJ he was a lifelong area resident. Conrad attended Bordentown Military Institute and was active with the Rescue Mission of Trenton for many years.
Connie loved all things mechanical. He built and flew Ultra-lite aircraft, and built and raced moto-cross and choppers. In his youth he built and raced dirt track automobiles at Flemington and East Windsor Speedways. Recently, attending races at New Egypt Speedway was his favorite pastime. He bought, sold and collected antique cars for many years.
An avid inventor, he had several patents pending. His love of math and sciences drove his lifelong ambition of solving the theory of perpetual motion for practical use.
Son of the late Fredrick Vahlsing, he is survived by two sons, Conrad Vahlsing, II of Philadelphia, Pa. and Derrick Vahlsing who is currently attending Bloomsburg University; his mother, Marie Lambert-Vahlsing of Robbinsville; the mother of his children, Dahlia Guzik of Effort, Pa.; his brother, Fred Vahlsing and his wife, Barbara of Princeton; his sisters, Christina Vahlsing of New Mexico, Josephine Vahlsing of Robbinsville and Elizabeth Southern and her husband Tom of Ca. and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday 6-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rescue Mission of Trenton, PO Box 790, Trenton, NJ 08605.
