Obituary

Clinton E. Jobes, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 4th, at Samaritan Hospice, in Mt. Holly, with his family by his side. Born in Florence, he had lived in the Bordentown area most of his life. He owned and operated Clint's Gulf Service, in Bordentown for 25 years, was a life-time member of the Bordentown Elks Lodge #2085 and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Bordentown. He liked to fish, but his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.

Son of the late Elmer E. and Sarah Anna Jobes (nee Quicksall) and father-in-law to the late Richard H. Mathews, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia R. Jobes (nee Smith); a son, Clinton W. Jobes of Trenton; three daughters and two sons-in-law; Lynda and Wayne Irons of Bordentown; Dawn Mathews of Henderson, NV., Karen and Jeffrey Lubbers of Fieldsboro; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Leroy and Janice Jobes of Trenton, Charles and Loretta Jobes of Whiting and Kenneth Jobes of Maryland; six grandchildren, Sherri Brucks, Wayne Irons, Jr., Erica Bowyer, Ian Mathews, Ashley Coleman and Stephen Lubbers; three great grandchildren, Eric Brucks, Morgan Irons and Brynn Bowyer as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.

A memorial service will be held 8pm on Friday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Friends may call from 5-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr. Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
