Obituary
Claire J. Burg, 92, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Lewistown, Montana where she has resided since 2003. Born in Philadelphia, she grew up in Maplewood, NJ before moving to Allentown where she resided for over 40 years. Claire worked as a bookkeeper at the 1st Mechanics National Bank of Trenton prior to raising her family. Moving to Montana in 1995 she made many new friends. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and had a quick wit. She kept current on local, national and world news and politics. Claire always had a smile and a cheerful outgoing personality that will surely be missed by her family and many friends.
Claire loved her church and was true to her Catholic faith throughout her life. She was a former member of St. John's R.C. Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Daughter of the late David and Agatha Wolf, Claire was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Joseph J. Burg, her brothers David Wolf of Portage, Wisconsin and Richard Wolf of Allentown and great-granddaughter Sezen Sari. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Amontis (Harry) of Allentown; her sons Joseph Burg (Pat) of Chesterfield and Matthew Burg of Lewistown, MT; seven grandchildren, Valerie Turkmenoglu (Mehmet) of Bordentown, Josephine Sari of Chesterfield, Steven Noble (Casey) of North Hanover, Adam Noble (Danielle) of Allentown, David Noble (Jessica) of Cream Ridge, Jacob Burg and Lucas Burg of Lewistown, MT; eleven great-grandchildren and three cousins, Virginia Scheffey (Bill) of West Chester, PA, Charles Wolf (Dolores) of Salem, NJ and Ed Wolf of St. Petersburg, FL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Friday, February 10th at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown. Friends may call on Thursday, from 6-8pm and again Friday morning 9:30-10:30am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Claire's name to the Little Sisters of the Poor , c/o Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143.
