Charles F. Reed Jr., 78, of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Clare Estates in Bordentown. Born in Collingswood, Charles lived in Long Beach Island and Cream Ridge for several years before moving to Hamilton in 2010. A graduate of Rutgers University, he served in the US Coast Guard and owned and operated multiple NTW Tire franchises. Charles was a talented photographer, dabbled in real estate and loved to travel, especially to his favorite place, St. John in the US Virgin Islands.
Son of the late Charles III and Evelyn Schuster Reed, he was predeceased by his first wife; Vivian Reed; his daughter Kymberly Reed and his sister, Joan Price. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathleen Reed; his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Terry Reed of Galloway; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Rick Moots of Bordentown; four grandchildren, CJ and Alison Reed, Victoria Moots and Rachel Rooke and her husband Tyler as well as many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. The family greatly appreciates the care and comfort provided to Charles by everyone with the Clare Estates. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Clare Estates, 201 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ 08505. Checks may be made payable to the Monastery Residence.
