Charles F. Ottinger, 62, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 in Lakewood, NJ.  Born in Florence, Alabama, he lived in New Jersey for the past 37 years, residing in Imlaystown, NJ since 1985.  A graduate of David Lipscomb College of Nashville and Ohio State University, Charles was a Philosophy Professor at The College of New Jersey for many years.  He later retired from AT&T/Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies in Holmdel, NJ after 20 years of service.  Charles and his wife traveled the world and he was an avid antique collector.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of over 38 years, Joyce S. Ottinger; his two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sarah and John Rummage and Nina Ottinger all of Nashville; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Charlene Ottinger of Knoxville; three nephews, Jay (Shana), Joel (Sara) and Aaron Rummage and a niece, Sarah Ottinger.  He is predeceased in death by his parents, Dan and Zelda Ottinger.

A memorial service celebrating Charles' life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Woodmont Hills Church of Christ, 3710 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN.  Visitation will be held from 10 â?? 11 am with the service starting at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made in Charles' name to a charity of the donor's choice.
