Charles E. Morris, 73, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side. Born in Lafayette, Indiana, he had been a resident of Bordentown Township for over 44 years. He was an Air Force Veteran of over eight years and worked as an avionic mechanic for McGuire AFB. Charles was an auto enthusiast, which included being a former drag racer and was awarded the UBRA Street E.T. Driver of the Year award in 1977, was a member and current president of the â??Rollin Oldies' Car Club, the â??EZ Rods' Car Club and participated in antique and custom car show events. He was an avid bowler and participated in local leagues. Charles was well loved and will be missed deeply by all.
Son of the late Charles and Mary Morris and brother of the late John (Daryl) and James (Dean) Morris, he is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Barbara Kovacs Morris; his beloved daughter, Cathleen A. (Morris) Schweppenheiser of Roebling; four brothers and five sisters residing in Indiana as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating Charles' life will be held 10:30am on Thursday, February 2nd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown. Interment will follow in the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Friends and family may call Thursday morning from 9am until time of service. The family could not have been more pleased with Compassionate Care Hospice and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to them at 600 Highland Drive, Suite 624, Westampton, NJ 08060.
