Caroline Panella, 87, of Bordentown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Born in Wilkesbarre, PA, she lived in Bordentown for over 60 years.
She and her husband owned and operated Tropical Drinks (Taylor Pork Roll) restaurant in Trenton. She also retired from the State of NJ DMV. "Sweet Caroline" was an active and beloved member and past trustee of the Bordentown Township Senior Citizens, bingo and poker player, and casino aficionado.
Wife of the late Arthur Panella, daughter of the late Nicholas and Marcine Konides, sister of the late James Konides, Pauline Quattroni, Athena Kirby, and Diana Theoharous, great Mom-mom to the late Annaleigh DiGiuseppe, she is survived by four daughters and four son-in-laws, Anne and Fred DiGiuseppe of Hamilton Square, Rhea and Larry Reimer of Allentown, Patricia and Michael Gaynor of Bordentown, and Chris and Steve Gleason of Ewing. She has been a loving and devoted Mom-mom to John DiGiuseppe and his wife Rebecca, Joseph DiGiuseppe and his wife Brooke, Melissa and Kimberly Gaynor, Amy Nagle and her husband Anthony, Ricky, Stephanie and Jodi Hunt, Chris Reimer and his wife Crystal, and Liz Reimer. She was also a great Mom-mom to Charlie and Lily DiGiuseppe, Arthur Nagle and Jack and Audrey Reimer. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and will undoubtedly be missed by all.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, January 16, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and again on Saturday morning from 9 to 9:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Caroline's name to the Bordentown Township Seniors, 3 Municipal Drive, Bordentown, NJ 08505.
