Carol Anne deGroot , 78, of Bordentown township, has passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Clifton, NJ, Carol has resided in Bordentown township since 1976. Carol was mayor of Bordentown Township for a year, winning with her patented pink yard signs and forever changed the community for the better! Carol also owned and operated various Hallmark stores with her husband, Leonard. She enjoyed quilting, genealogy, cross-stitching, camping around the United States, but most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She will be deeply missed by all.

Predeceased by her parents; Albert and Pauline Winters, Carol is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Leonard de Groot. Her sons; Steven Daniel de Groot and Jeffrey Michael de Groot. Carol is also survived by her sister; Eleanor Fodor and her husband Harry, as well as her grandchildren; Steven de Groot Jr., John Albert de Groot, Jeffrey Michael de Groot Jr., Benjamin Alexander de Groot and Blair Dunn Harrington.

A funeral service will be held for Carol on Friday, June 18, at 12pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ. Friends and family may attend a viewing from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home and again on Friday morning from 11am until time of service. Interment will be held on Wednesday, June 23 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery located in Wrightstown, NJ.
