Carlton G. Cubberley , 93, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022, in the comfort of his
home with his loving family at his side. Born in Groveville to the late Jacob and Violet Cubberley,
Carl was the youngest of 8 children. Carl served as a Corporal in the United States Army during
the Korean War, a title which he wore with great pride and honor throughout his life.
After his armed service Carl returned home and was employed at Kaycor in Yardville, CV Hill in
Trenton and retired after 25 years of dedicated service at McGraw Hill Book Co in Hightstown as
a stock control manager.
Carl was a Life member of the Groveville Fire Co. He was an accomplished athlete, a talented
golfer and a bowler. He was also a zealous lover of all things baseball, and had a unwavering
devotion to his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals.
Carl was a 40 year resident of both Groveville and Robbinsville. He also enjoyed his extended
visits to his home in Ocala, Florida with his late wife, Alice. Carl relished in the warmth of the
Florida sunshine which enabled him to enjoy his passion for golf. Carl was a quiet, unassuming
man with a gentle soul. He was always polite and thankful and took pride in carrying himself as
a true gentleman.
Carl is predeceased by his siblings, Reba, Belle, William, Charles, Myrtle, Lester and Alvin, as
well as his loving wife, Alice Cubberley. He is survived by his two sons Mark and Eric
Cubberley, and three granddaughters Courtney, Alexis, and Camryn Cubberley.

A memorial service celebrating Carl's life will be held at Groveville United Methodist Church on
Saturday, April 16, at 11am. Friends may call immediately prior to the memorial service from
9:30 am to 11 am. A private interment and military honors will take place in the Groveville
Church Cemetary at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in
Carl's honor to The Miracle League of Mercer County (1337 NJ-33, Hamilton Township, NJ
