Carl T Mazurek, 77, passed away Friday December 31, 2010, after a brief illness in Naples, FL. Carl was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. He then married and moved to Bordentown, NJ in 1953. Carl was a member of
Carpenters Local #31 in Trenton, NJ for over 30 years and, before retiring in 1995, attained the position of construction superintendent. Prior to leaving Bordentown, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, The BPOE
(Elks) Lodge 2085, and a Little League Baseball coach for many years. He also served in the NJ Air National Guard.
In retirement, he summered on Long Beach Island, NJ and wintered in Naples, FL. Carl was a lifelong learner and enjoyed many hobbies. His most fervent passions were fishing and boating. He was also an avid woodworker, spending more time at his workbench than anyplace else.
Son of the late Thomas and Helen (Zaniewski) Mazurek,, he is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lois (Jobes) Mazurek, his 5 children and their spouses, Debra (Patrick) Neylan, Stephen (Patricia), Ronald (Lisa), Dean (Robin), and Chuck (Kelly) and his sister Maguerite (Mazurek) Kazior. He was also loved and adored by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life and memorial service is planned for 1 pm Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Peppler¹s Funeral Home, Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends and family may call at any time from 12 noon until time of service. Internment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Trenton, NJ the following morning.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memoriam to the Surf City Volunteer EMS/Fire Company, 713 Long Beach Blvd, Surf City, NJ 08008 or to Deborah Heart Center, 200 Trenton Rd, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
