C. Irwin McDowell, Jr., 85 of Hornerstown, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Keystone Care in Wyndmoor, PA. Born in Asbury Park, Irwin graduated from Pemberton High School and resided in the Imlaystown and Hornerstown area for most of his life. He worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Irwin was a longtime member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church and formerly service as a church custodian.

Son of the late C. Irwin and Marian McDowell, he was predeceased by his wife, Wanda McDowell. Irwin is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and George Kucowski of Jacobstown, Lora and Daniel Venet of Easley, SC and Marian and Mark D'Arcy of Jacobstown; five grandchildren, Melissa Kucowski, George Kucowski Jr., Daniel Venet Jr., Brian Venet and Tom D'Arcy; eleven great grandchildren and his dog Baby.

A private graveside service will be held at the Allentown Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Keystone Care, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038. Arrangements under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
