Bruce S. Kay, 80, of Robbinsville passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Mercerville Care Center. Born in Medford, MA, he was the son of the late George F. and M. Phyllis Kay. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy L.; five children from a previous marriage, Kathleen Denike of Poughquag, NY, Thomas S. Kay of Somers, NY, Virginia Cartee of West Palm Beach, FL, Nancy L. Mclahn of Poughquag, NY and Roger B. Kay of Purdys, NY; two step-daughters, Natalie Savage of Burlington, NJ and Veronica Wyatt of Mt. Laurel, NJ; a sister, Rosemary Chapa and her husband Manny of San Antonio, TX and eighteen grandchildren.
Mr. Kay attended Pennsylvania State College before entering into the US Navy in 1951, serving until 1959 aboard a destroyer with the Seventh Fleet during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the ""Tin Cans Association"". After the Navy he joined the White Plains Police Department, retiring after 24 years of service. He worked for Chesebrough-Pond's in Greenwich, CT before retiring after 10 years. Mr. Kay was also a member of the Fort Dix Chapel.
Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday, January 18 th at Fort Dix Chapel, 5240 New Jersey Ave, Fort Dix, NJ. (Please have valid ID to enter base.) Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown and again Tuesday 10am until the time of service at the Fort Dix Chapel.
