Betty Lou Turgyan (nee Gravatt) 65, of Bordentown Township, died Saturday at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital, Elkins Park, PA. Born in Florence, NJ, she had lived in the Bordentown area for the last 52 years. She was a graduate of MacFarland High School of Bordentown and received an Associates Degree from Burlington County College. Betty Lou was the legal secretary for Judge Harold B. Wells III and was a past president of the Burlington County Legal Secretary Association. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and the founder of the Bordentown Regional Basketball Booster Club. She was always active in the community helping with the cub scouts, the girl scouts and umpired local softball games.
Daughter of the late George Gravatt and sister of the late Edward Gravatt and Georgine Greener, she is survived by her mother Beatrice Gravatt (nee Green), her husband Stephen M. Turgyan, A son and daughter-in-law; Mark and Sharon Turgyan of Bordentown Township, A daughter and son-in-law; Karen and Charles DeBow of Eastampton, NJ A sister-in-law; Rita Gravatt of Florence Township, four grandchildren; Stephen, Drew, Morgan and Paige, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10:30 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
