Bettie Reeves Wedell, 85, formerly of Columbus and Surf City, died July 28th in Owosso, Michigan. She was born in Mansfield Township, the daughter of the late John T. and Margaret Stanton Reeves, she resided most of her life in Columbus and Surf City before moving to Michigan over three years ago. Bettie was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the ladies auxiliary of both Franklin Fire Company and Surf City Fire Company and had been employed by the Burlington County Board of Elections, the Mansfield Oil Company, the Northern Burlington School Board and the Register-News. She loved to crochet and knit.

Wife of the late H. Vernon Wedell, sister of the late John T. Reeves, Jr. and grandmother of the late Charles Van Mater, Jr.; she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Irene Wedell of Owosso, MI; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Albert Magson of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marion Reeves of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Ann Reeves of Hesston, PA; a brother-in-law and his wife, Dorrance and Connie Wedell of Alabama and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, August 14th at 11 am from the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Interment will follow in the Columbus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 24557 East Main St. Columbus, NJ 08022.
