Bessie Coonley Masson, age 88, formerly of Hamilton, NJ, passed away Monday, November 24th at her daughter's home in Newtown, PA. Born and raised in Troy, NY, Bessie resided most of her life in Hamilton, NJ before moving to Timonium, MD in recent years. Bessie was a long-time member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hamilton, NJ. She retired from the Trenton Board of Education where she worked as an Administrative Secretary in the Purchasing Department. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, brother, aunt, and cousin, and friend.
Daughter of the late Nellie and Frederick Coonley and wife of the late Murray (Scotty) Masson, Bessie is survived by her daughter, Karen Kleppinger of Newtown, PA; her grandchildren, David of Blacksburg, VA, Christopher and Sarah Elizabeth Kleppinger of Newtown, PA; her sister, Lois Bishop of Troy, NY; two brothers, Norman Coonley of Schenectady, NY and Kenneth Coonley of Frederick, MD as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, Monday, December 1st at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, 350 White Horse Avenue., Hamilton, NJ 08610. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arrangements under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, N.J.
