Bernice Peters, 87, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Masonic Home in Burlington. Born in Philadelphia, Bernice worked in the cafeteria at Allentown Elementary and High School for several years and retired as a clerk from the State Police in 1991. She was a member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church, the Allentown Villagers and the Allentown First Aid Squad. Above all, she was devoted to taking care of her family and home.
Daughter of the late William and Frances Robb she was predeceased by a son, Robert Peters and her siblings, Bill, Fran, Veronica, James and Albert. Bernice is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Howard I. Peters Jr.; her children, Linda and Jimmy Smith, David and Karen Peters, Thomas and Cheryl Peters and Todd and Kay Peters; her daughter in law, Judy Peters; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11 am on Wednesday, December 31st at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allentown First Aid Squad, PO Box 252, Allentown, NJ 08501.
