Benedict A. Scaccetti, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, he had lived in Bordentown prior to moving to Florence 10 years ago. Ben was a Navy Veteran and retired from the Western Electric Company in Trenton.
A husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him. The sparkle in his eyes, the friendliness of his smile, his wonderful sense of humor, the warmth and comfort of his hug will always be with us til we meet again.
Predeceased by his parents, Galliano and Lena Mattei and his brother Henry, he is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Elaine, two daughters: Jill Lutz and her husband Lawrence and Melissa Scaccetti and Michael Wentz, two brothers: Galliano "Jack" Scaccetti and his wife Helene, Leon Scaccetti and his wife Tina, his sister: Marion Hanuschik, his sister-in-law: Rachael, his grandchildren: Alaina, Amanda, Matthew Benedict and Erica Lutz and he was a wonderful, fun loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He loved his: garden, baseball, Sinatra, the Scaccetti annual picnic, breakfast with Bob, breakfast with family, to eat, Tuesday, giving, loyalty, tradition. He loved life.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, the family wishes that a random act of kindness be performed in remembrance of Ben, a man who spent his life doing for others
