Barry R. Carlson , 75, passed away at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, on April 1, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Trenton, he spent his childhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He had been a resident of Columbus, New Jersey since 2015.

Barry began a career in the financial services industry as a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch, New York, New York and retired from South Seas Island Resort, Captiva, Florida. Recently, he worked as an auditor at Hilton Garden Inn, Westampton, New Jersey. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bordentown, New Jersey, where he was a volunteer for the food pantry. He enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and gardening.

Predeceased by his parents Robert and Beatrice Carlson, he is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Betty, and children Matthew, Barry Jr. and Julie Franks; stepson Ronnie South; brother, Ken and partner, Eileen McDonough; and grandchildren Cody, Thor, Cambree and Keeley.

A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception at First Baptist Church, 127 Prince St, Bordentown, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barry's name to First Baptist Church of Bordentown, Sharing Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown, New Jersey.
