Obituary

Barbara Lee Zamensky, a beloved member of her community and devoted cafeteria worker at Northern Burlington Regional High School, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Mt. Holly. Born on May 8, 1938, also in Mt. Holly, Barbara lived a life marked by kindness, empathy, and an inviting warmth that touched all who knew her.

Throughout her career at Northern Burlington Regional High School, Barbara was known not only for her dedication but also for the genuine care she extended to students and colleagues alike. Her presence in the cafeteria was more than just a job, it was a place where she created a welcoming environment filled with smiles and heartfelt conversations.

Barbara had a deep love for travel, particularly enjoying her trips to Lancaster, which brought her joy and memorable experiences. A passionate gardener, Barbara’s gardening talents were evident in her remarkable 7' tall rose bush, adorned with roses larger than one’s fist, a testament to her patience, diligence, and affection for nature. Her love of shopping and collecting antiques was another reflection of her spirited personality as well as her love for her favorite sports team, The Philadelphia Phillies.

Family was a cornerstone of Barbara’s life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence J Zamensky Sr., and their son, Lawrence J Zamensky Jr. Her family circle extended warmly to brothers and sisters-in-law: David Perkins, Stephen and Debra Perkins Sr., Jane Zamensky, Kim and Tom Quinn, and Ken Zamensky. Loving sisters Lois, Eileen, Ellen (with her husband Vernon Nutt), and Betty Ann complete this cherished network of close relatives. Barbara also leaves behind a rich legacy of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who hold her memory dear.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Alice Perkins, whose values she carried forward throughout her life. She is also predeceased by her beloved sister Carol Perkins as well as her loving brothers-in-law; Frank and William Zamensky.

A graveside service honoring Barbara’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Columbus Cemetery Association, located at 24 Cherry Lane in Mansfield, NJ. This will offer an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together and celebrate the meaningful impact Barbara made on so many lives.

Barbara Lee Zamensky’s kind and welcoming nature, along with her empathetic and warm spirit, leaves a mark on all who had the privilege to know her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose life was a shining example of compassion and grace.
