Barbara J. Richards, 93, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026 at Capital Health Fuld Campus in Trenton. Born July 18, 1932 in Trenton she was raised in Crosswicks, NJ and was a graduate of Hamilton High West High School. Barbara had worked for NJ Bell as an international switchboard operator and later became an administrative assistant after the merger with AT&T. She was also at one time the CWA president of Local #1058 of Bridgewater, NJ and retired from AT&T after 44 years of service. She was also a devoted member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, NJ where she was formerly a resident.

She was predeceased by her parents William E. Richards and Loretta Richards Delaney, her one sister Louise H., and two brothers Edward A. and Donald W. Richards. She is survived by nephews and nieces Edward Jr., Donna, Denise, Eric and Arleen Richards, great nieces and nephews Tiffany, Ericka, Wesley and Ian, sister-in-law Eva Richards, special cousin Gloria Leonard, and many other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00pm Friday, January 9 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call from 11:00am until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton Township, NJ.
