Barbara Pontell, 97, born February 21, 1912 of Allentown, New Jersey passed away this past July. She was born and raised in New York. She married Ernest Pontell in 1937. They shared a wonderful life in New York and Cape Coral Florida until his death in 1990. Barbara moved to Casselberry, Florida in 1993 and then to Allentown, New Jersey to live with her daughter Linda in 2007.

She is survived by her children Melody Nista (Howard), Ernest Pontell (Karen), Linda Pontell (Brian McGarry), 8 Grandchildren (Larry and Jimmy Nista, Cathy Raudekus, Suzy and Kris Pontell, Evan, Avery and Ian Pontell-Schaefer) and 9 great grandchildren.
She loved her family, and enjoyed making her Italian dinners and golfing with her beloved husband. She believed very deeply in education and often said her greatest accomplishment was to send her three children to college.

A memorial celebrating her life was held on Monday July 27th, 2009 at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and cemetery in Cape Coral, Fla. A mass followed at St Andrew's Catholic Church, Cape Coral, FL 33904. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to
