Barbara L. Gravatt, 98, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly.  Born in Hightstown, she graduated from Hightstown High School in 1942 and attended Rider College.  She married her husband, Carlton, in 1946 and they lived in Hightstown for many years before moving to Allentown and later to Homestead in Columbus.  Barbara was a homemaker and loved traveling, reading, and being with her family and friends.

Daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret Laird and sister of the late Alta Laird Reynolds, she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Carlton W. Gravatt.  Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Michael Ameser; three sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Margaret, Roger and Linda, and Bruce and Shannon Gravatt; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; a special niece, Mary Ann Makurat, as well as other family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 25th from 10-11:30am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown.  The funeral service and entombment will be private.
