Barbara J. Brown, 79, of Crosswicks, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, surrounded in love by her devoted family after a brief illness. Born in Lakewood, NJ, she was a longtime Crosswicks area resident.  Barbara started her career in the Hamilton Twp. School System, and later worked as a secretary for Yardville Elementary School.  She loved the position and the school and worked there for over 30 years surrounded by the laughter of children and the humor and love of her faculty family.  Barbara was a longtime member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Jackson, taught Sunday School there in her early years and raised her daughter to come to love the hymns and fellowship. She was a lifetime bowler and cherished her favorite happy place at Point Pleasant Beach where she vacationed for many years. She enjoyed travelling in her RV, cruises, gardening, sewing, baking, country music, dancing to Elvis Presley tunes and as many Random Acts of Kindness as she could give in her lifetime.

Daughter of the late Mildred and Chauncey Davison, Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, David B. Brown Jr. and her loving daughter, Kathy Goff; sister-in-law, Shirley Heggie; niece, Diane Heggie, as well as many cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 7 ^th from 7-9pm and again Wednesday from 10-11am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown.  A funeral service will begin at 11am on Wednesday at the funeral home. A private family interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Jackson, NJ. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a date yet to be determined later this spring.
