Obituary

Anthony J. McNulty, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at The Elms at Cranbury, in Cranbury, NJ. Affectionately known as Tony, he was born in Bronxville, NY, grew up in Manhattan's West Village and attended Xavier High School, winning many oratory awards and singing in the glee club. He graduated in 1958 as class valedictorian, serving in the Junior ROTC as Colonel of the Regiment. Tony then continued his Army ROTC training at Fordham University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1963. He remained at Fordham, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1966, then serving in the Army and resigning with honors as a Captain in 1971. From 1968-1969, Anthony proudly served in Vietnam as a Judge Advocate General (JAG Officer). He returned from in country, and while stationed at Fort Dix, NJ, met Marylin Ann Davie. They were married in 1971 at the Fort Dix Chapel.

Tony rejoined his father, William F. McNulty, to create McNulty and McNulty Law Firm, where they both worked as Appellate Attorneys in Manhattan and throughout New York. He and Marylin moved to Coram, NY, and while on Long Island had their two children, Anthony Davie and Megan Elizabeth. Anthony published a book detailing his travels on the Long Island Railroad, then continued commuting into "the city" from the family's longtime home in Princeton Junction, NJ, prior to moving to Allentown, NJ, 21 years ago. During his legal career, Tony was also a longtime member of the Defense Association of New York, where he was honored to serve a term as President. Throughout his years in Princeton Junction and Allentown, Tony was a steadfast member of St. David the King Roman Catholic Church, where he frequently lectured and sang in the choir as a tenor.

Predeceased by his parents William and Helen McNulty and his brother William B. McNulty, he is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marylin Davie McNulty of Allentown, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law: Davie and Julie McNulty of Larchmont, NY, his daughter and son-in-law: Megan McNulty Ambrose and Stuart Ambrose of Burbank, CA, his brother and sister-in-law: John and Gail McNulty of Colonial Heights, VA, his grandchildren: James and Chloe McNulty and Mackenzie and Huck Ambrose, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 29th at 11:30 am at St. David the King, 1 New Village Rd, Princeton Junction, NJ, 08550.  A visitation with the family will be held Wednesday at 10:30am at the church. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.
