Anne Pogranicy, 89, of Allentown, died January 3, 2011 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. Anne was born in Philadelphia on November 20, 1921; she was raised in Allentown/Upper Freehold Township from the age of 3 and remained a resident for her entire life. Anne was a graduate of Allentown High School and Rider Business College. She was a clerk in the bankruptcy court of Trenton and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II for 3 ½ years. After her discharge, she was office manager at Stangl Pottery in Trenton for 40 years. Anne was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Allentown and the Altar Rosary Society; she was also an avid reader of history, especially presidential biographies.
Anne was the beloved Aunt to many. She is survived by her nephews, Brian P. Foley, Sr., Kevin J. Foley and their families, both of Allentown, Thomas J. Pogranicy of Port Republic, NJ and his family and her niece, Margaret Lister of Lumberton and her family.
Funeral service and interment will be private under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. Memorial contributions may be made in Anne's memory to the Allentown First Aid Squad, PO Box 252, Allentown, NJ 08501.
