She bravely fought an 11-year battle with Alzheimer's and has been on Hospice for the last two months. "MomMom" was surrounded by the Love of her caregiving grandchildren and was determined to celebrate Christmas with them one last time. She passed surrounded by their praying, singing voices, and loving family.

Born on July 26, 1937, in Springfield, MA, Ann grew up in Flushing Queens, NY, to First Generation Irish parents. After Sunday services, the congregation would empty through the parking lot to their house for the tea and chat. Mom attended St. Luke's elementary school and graduated from Saint Mary's High School in 1955. She then attended Our Lady of Good Counsel College in White Plains, New York (Now, PACE University) and graduated in 1960 with a B.S. She was later certified to be a K-8 elementary school teacher in the state of N.Y. and N.J. She taught 2nd grade, where she loved preparing the children for their communion at Sacred Heart School, Monroe, NY, and Reverend Brown, Sparta, N.J. Ann got her Real Estate License in the state of N.J. and worked in the Publications Department of the United States Tennis Association. Ann's Vocation and most important job in life were being a wife and mother to her four children and Grandmother to her 13 Grandchildren.

Ann was an accomplished tennis player and bowler. She had Love for music and copywrote a couple of songs. She loved to write and paint. She shared that Love with her children and grandchildren, who inherited her artistic gifts. She had unwavering faith and looked to do Gods' work every day on earth. She seemed never to sleep and had unending "sandwiches" for any company that came to visit. She exuded LOVE and lived life to the fullest especially everything and all things IRISH. She was indeed an example to all and a true earthly angel.

Daughter of the late Thomas Flaherty of Kerry, Ireland, who owned a Shell station for 25 years in N.Y. and Elizabeth Flaherty of Castlecomer, Co.
