Andrew "Andy" John Weber passed away on May 15, 2016. He was born in Trenton, New Jersey on May 8, 1937 to Andrew P. and Theresa R. Weber. He was a longtime resident of the Berrywood Community in Severna Park, Maryland where he resided with his wife of 58 years Barbara (Bobbie) T. Weber.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Rachel W. Arfaoui (Kais) of Raleigh, NC, Andrew Scott Weber (Mandy) of Carolina Beach, NC and Rebecca W. Rotella (Pete) of Cary, NC, his two grandchildren, Irwin O'Donnell of New York, NY and Nicholas A. Rotella of Cary, NC, and a brother John A. Weber of San Bernardino, CA.
In his early years his family moved to Seaside Heights, NJ, and that is where he developed his lifelong love of the water. He was a graduate of Upper Freehold Township (Allentown, NJ) High School. He continued his education at N.C. State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Conservation and Management and a Master of Forestry.
Andy began his career as a District Wildlife Biologist for the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission. He then accepted a position on the Extension Forestry Faculty at N.C. State University. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a National Program Leader of Water Quality. After retiring, he enjoyed boating, fishing and woodworking. He served on the Berrywood Marina Committee for many years and was involved in environmental issues that affected the community. He received a 2016 Aspire Severna Park Community Leadership Award.
A Graveside service will be held 2pm on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the East Windsor Cemetery in Hightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DeCesaris Cancer Institute, Anne Arundel Medical Center, 2001 Medical Parkway, Donner Pavilion, Annapolis, MD 21401.
