IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amar "Daniel"
Benamara
June 1, 1954 – June 2, 2020
Amar "Daniel" Benamara, 66, of Chesterfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. He was born in Tazrut, Bouzeguene, Tizi Ouzou, Algeria and grew up in Marseilles, France from the time he was four years old. He immigrated to the United States in the summer of 1976, where he lived proudly as an American citizen after his naturalization in February 2003. Due to his failing health, he begrudgingly retired from AI Technology Inc. after 20 years of loyal service. Daniel was dedicated to his family and close with his grandparents, mother, uncle, brother, nephews and loved spending time with his life partner, daughter and beautiful grandchildren. He was a kind person with a jovial nature that he cheerfully spread by joking and making others laugh. He enjoyed playing soccer, watching Sunday football and a long weekend in Atlantic City with Anita. Daniel's favorite pastime was tinkering at home and he loved working in his many gardens. After living a life of joie de vivre, he died with dignity at home with his devoted partner, Anita.
Son of the late Mohand and Ouníssa Benamara; he is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Justina and John of Virginia; his beloved grandchildren, Benjamin and Freya; his devoted partner of 37 years, Anita Mathes of Allentown; his former stepchildren, Eda Montgomery of Virginia and Edmund J. Witkowski III; his brother, Rachid Benamara of Algeria; his uncle, Lakhdar "Ben" Benamara of Lawrenceville and many nephews, cousins and dear friends.
