Allyn McLaughlin

Allyn C. McLaughlin, 73, of Cream Ridge, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Born in Hawthorne, New Jersey, Allyn was a longtime resident of the Allentown area. She earned her master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and dedicated her career to serving children and families as the LDTC for the Allentown Upper Freehold School District. Throughout her many years of service, Allyn was a compassionate advocate for students, always ensuring that every child felt supported, understood, and valued. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering commitment positively impacted countless families, colleagues, and students, many of whom remember her as someone who truly changed lives.

A woman of deep faith, Allyn was a devoted member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church, where she generously shared her time and talents over the years. Whether serving in leadership, volunteering at church events, or quietly offering encouragement to others, she embodied a spirit of compassion, generosity, and service. Her church family was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in giving back to her community.

Allyn's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She celebrated every milestone, offered endless encouragement, and created lasting memories through family gatherings, holidays, and everyday moments together. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in watching them grow.

She was also a loyal and cherished friend who loved traveling and making memories with those closest to her. Whether exploring a new destination, sharing laughter over a meal, or simply spending time together, Allyn embraced life with warmth and gratitude. She was the kind of person who would go above and beyond for the people she loved, always putting others before herself with a generous heart and unwavering support.

Daughter of the late John and Dorothy McLaughlin, Allyn is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Mumpower, Justin Mumpower and his wife, Nicole, and Jonathan Mumpower; her beloved grandchildren, Owen and Murphie along with many dear relatives, lifelong friends, former colleagues, and members of her church community who will forever cherish her memory.

A visitation with the family will be held Thursday, July 23rd from 10-11 am at the Allentown Presbyterian Church, 20 High Street, Allentown, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Allyn's memory to the Allentown Presbyterian Church or to a children's charity or educational organization of the family's choosing.

Allyn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant's heart, her dedication to children, her love of family, and the countless acts of kindness that touched so many lives. Her legacy of compassion, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
